It is a new term and with it brings a new module for Preliminary English Advanced.
We have recently completed the Area of Study: Conflict and the close study of the play Oedipus the King by Sophocles.
Oedipus the King is our prescribed text for the Oral Culture period.
The next periods that we will be looking at in class are The Renaissance (1550-1660) and the 18th Century (1660-1789).
The module that encompasses these two periods is called – Module A: Shifting Values.
The prescribed texts for each period are:
The Renaissance (1550-1660): King Lear, William Shakespeare
18th Century (1660-1789): Essay (TBA) by Jonathan Swift
